The Cost
NEW WEBSITE DESIGN OR REDESIGN OR EXISTING WEBSITE
One big question that you may have is: how much is it going to
cost to get your website designed? At Web Crafters, you're charged
an hourly rate for your web design work. Each website is unique
and therefore, the cost for your website design will be unique.
In order to give you an accurate estimate on designing, redesigning
or maintaining your website, we will ask you to fill out a client
survey that will give us a better idea of what you are looking
for. After we receive your completed survey, we will e-mail
or call you with any questions that we may have. We will then put
together a proposal for you listing out your requirements and the
estimated time it will take to complete the work. You will then
be required to put down a deposit/retainer of 50% of the total
amount before the work begins.
We make every effort to make the initial estimate as accurate
as possible with the information that you provide. However, the
estimate is only that - an estimate. If additional requirements
are added during the course of the work, we will make you aware
of any changes to the original estimate before the work is done
so that there are no surprises at the end. On the flip side, you
will ONLY be charged for the number of hours worked. Therefore,
if the project ends up taking less time than the original estimated
hours, you will only be charged for the amount of hours worked.

WEBSITE MAINTENANCE
Web Crafters does not charge a monthly maintenance fee. Instead, we charge by the hour for maintenance done and bill in 1/4 hour increments. Our clients are then billed on a monthly or quarterly basis. If you are interested in having Web Crafters maintain your website, please click here to send us an e-mail.
WEB HOSTING
One common question we get is: do you host websites? The quick answer is no and neither do most web designers.
Being a web hosting company means you've got a room full of web servers (or boxes as they are commonly called), which really just means you've got a bunch of big computers. Web hosts provide space on these computers where you store your website files. Most web hosting companies aren't web designers and most web designers aren't web hosting companies. If a web designer offers web hosting, they are most likely resellers for a web hosting company. It often appears transparent to the person buying the hosting as the reseller plans allow the web designer to sell web hosting plans under their own name. Usually this involves marking up the web hosting price to compensate for the time spent dealing with technical issues. The web designer provides support to you and the web hosting company provides support to the web designer.
At Web Crafters, our goal is to focus on what we do well. Therefore, we opt not to participate in reseller plans with web hosting companies. Instead, we recommend reliable web hosting companies and assist in setting up a web hosting plan that is affordable and reliable for our clients. We prefer to have you sign up directly with the web hosting company so that you can get the best rate and support possible. That does not mean that we do not provide support when there are technical problems with the website. We have a very strong relationship with the web hosting company we recommend and are happy to act as a go-between for our clients and the hosting company. |
